Workshop Agenda:
Movement & Stretching with Lindsay Anderson - Lindsay has had teaching in her heart for most of her life. She shifted from elementary education to yoga in 2014, creating safe spaces for students to experience growth. She loves connecting with people and feels honored to witness the changes that yoga and mindfulness bring to their lives. Her personal yoga journey began after having her daughter in 2012 as a way to balance her Type-A personality. She ended up falling in love with vinyasa flow and the way the fluid movement felt like a dance of self-expression. As she rooted more deeply into herself, she saw how yoga could be used to encourage self-acceptance and personal growth, as well as build community. Now, she teaches mindful movement to students whose ages range from elementary through adulthood, cultivating spaces where all participants have permission to have an authentic experience on their mat. She is so excited to bring movement to the Young: Equal community as part of the Teen Dance Workshop.
Toddrick Hall Combo Choreographed by Andy Knapp - Andy Knapp has spent half of his life traveling across the nation working in the arts and entertainment industry with young aspiring dancers. Growing up in Michigan he has always found dancing the easiest form of expression and took the leap at age 17 to join a local dance studio. After extensive training in all forms of dance including jazz, tap and ballet, Andy earned to pass along the tools he learned for others to express themselves. Andy is best known in the dance competition and convention scene, teaching, hosting, adjudicating and directing major competitions across the nation and internationally. His true passion is in the studio choreographing and putting moves to the music. Andy’s choreography has won numerous choreography and entertainment awards and has been showcased on stage, screen and film. He has a unique ability to take his love for dance and instill it in those he works with. There is a light that eludes from Andy’s work and it leaves participants connected to their art. We are so excited to have Andy on our faculty for this impactful workshop.
