Overview:
Young: Equal is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our team as a Fundraising Coordinator. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in motivating volunteers to participate in our annual peer-to-peer fundraising drive, establishing partnerships with local organizations as sponsors, and devising innovative strategies to create fundraising opportunities within the community. While experience in fundraising is preferred, we welcome candidates with a passion for our mission and an eagerness to contribute to our fundraising efforts.
Our Mission:
We are driven with the purpose to create environments that promote self-acceptance, community, and love for the LGBTQ+ community. Young: Equal works with teen & young adult members of the LGBTQ+ community through creative arts & recreation to reaffirm the importance of one’s own identity. Through creative arts, recreation, and social media, Young: Equal creates safe spaces that set the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ teens & young adults as our top priority.
Responsibilities:
Sponsorship Development:
Identify and approach local organizations for potential sponsorship opportunities.
Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, ensuring a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership.
Peer-to-Peer Fundraising:
Motivate and engage volunteers to actively participate in our annual peer-to-peer fundraising drive.
Provide support, resources, and encouragement to volunteers to maximize their fundraising impact.
Community Fundraising:
Develop and implement creative strategies to generate fundraising opportunities within the local community.
Organize events, campaigns, or initiatives to raise funds and increase awareness for Young: Equal.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with the marketing and outreach teams to ensure cohesive messaging and promotion of fundraising activities.
Communicate effectively with volunteers, sponsors, and community members to foster engagement and support.
Qualifications:
Passion for promoting inclusivity and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Strong motivation and ability to inspire volunteers toward fundraising goals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in fundraising is preferred, but not required. Openness to learning and adapting is essential.
Time Commitment:
This is a volunteer position with a flexible time commitment, adapting to the demands of fundraising initiatives and events.
