Young: Equal is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Grant Writer. In this crucial role, you will play a key part in securing funding to support our mission of promoting inclusivity and support for the LGBTQ+ community. Our Mission:
We are driven with the purpose to create environments that promote self-acceptance, community, and love for the LGBTQ+ community. Young: Equal works with teen & young adult members of the LGBTQ+ community through creative arts & recreation to reaffirm the importance of one’s own identity. Through creative arts, recreation, and social media, Young: Equal creates safe spaces that set the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ teens & young adults as our top priority.
Responsibilities:
Grant Research:
Identify potential grant opportunities that align with Young: Equal's mission and goals.
Conduct thorough research to understand the eligibility criteria and application requirements for each grant.
Proposal Development:
Write compelling grant proposals, ensuring alignment with funder priorities and guidelines.
Collaborate with relevant teams to gather necessary information and data for grant applications.
Grant Submission:
Manage the end-to-end grant application process, including submission and follow-up.
Maintain a comprehensive calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements.
Relationship Building:
Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with grant-making organizations and foundations.
Respond to inquiries and requests from funders promptly and professionally.
Reporting and Compliance:
Ensure accurate and timely reporting to grantors as required.
Keep abreast of changes in grant regulations and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in grant writing and a successful track record of securing grants.
Strong research skills to identify and evaluate potential funding sources.
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to articulate the organization's mission effectively.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
Time Commitment:
This is a volunteer position with a flexible time commitment, adapting to the demands of grant application deadlines and reporting cycles.
