Overview:

Young: Equal is in search of a creative and resourceful individual to join our team as a Marketing Specialist. In this role, you will play a key part in developing marketing campaigns for our future events, utilizing both print and social media platforms. We are looking for someone with basic marketing skills, familiarity with tools like Canva, and a passion for promoting inclusivity and support for the LGBTQ+ community.

Our Mission:

We are driven with the purpose to create environments that promote self-acceptance, community, and love for the LGBTQ+ community. Young: Equal works with teen & young adult members of the LGBTQ+ community through creative arts & recreation to reaffirm the importance of one’s own identity. Through creative arts, recreation, and social media, Young: Equal creates safe spaces that set the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ teens & young adults as our top priority.

Responsibilities:

• Campaign Development:

  • Create engaging and impactful marketing campaigns for upcoming Young: Equal events.

  • Design materials for both print and digital platforms to effectively reach our target audience.

• Social Media Management:

  • Manage and curate content for Young: Equal's social media channels to increase visibility and engagement.

  • Collaborate with the team to align marketing efforts with organizational goals.

• Tool Familiarity:

  • Utilize tools like Canva and other basic marketing software to create visually appealing materials.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and recommend new tools or strategies for improved marketing efforts.

• Collaboration:

  • Work closely with event coordinators, volunteer coordinators, and other teams to align marketing strategies with organizational objectives.

  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all marketing materials.

    
    

Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of marketing principles and strategies.

• Familiarity with graphic design tools like Canva.

• Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  
  

Time Commitment:

This is a volunteer position with a flexible time commitment, adapting to the demands of marketing campaigns and event schedules.
