Overview:
Young: Equal is searching for a dynamic and dedicated individual to serve as the Regional Director for Nevada. In this key leadership role, you will oversee all local events in the state, working closely with various volunteer positions to ensure the successful execution of Young: Equal's mission. Our Mission:
We are driven with the purpose to create environments that promote self-acceptance, community, and love for the LGBTQ+ community. Young: Equal works with teen & young adult members of the LGBTQ+ community through creative arts & recreation to reaffirm the importance of one’s own identity. Through creative arts, recreation, and social media, Young: Equal creates safe spaces that set the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ teens & young adults as our top priority.
Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
Lead and oversee all local operations and activities in Nevada, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Collaborate with volunteer coordinators, communication directors, programming directors, and other team members to achieve cohesive outcomes.
Team Management:
Recruit, train, and manage a team of dedicated volunteers in Nevada.
Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
Community Engagement:
Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, nonprofits, and community leaders.
Represent Young: Equal in the community and at relevant events, fostering positive connections.
Strategic Planning:
Work with the national leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans for Nevada.
Identify opportunities for growth and expansion of Young: Equal's impact within the state.
Coordination and Collaboration:
Collaborate with various teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of activities.
Provide regular updates and reports to the national leadership on regional activities and achievements.
Qualifications:
Leadership experience with a proven ability to manage and motivate teams.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Passion for promoting inclusivity and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Time Commitment:
This is a volunteer position with a flexible time commitment, adapting to the demands of regional operations and coordination.
